Spring Racing Stamp - Flemington Racecourse

Description

This was created for Visual Communication and Design (VCD) Unit 2 for school. This was a task to create three stamps for the Australia Post based on a themed sport - basing this on celebrating the Spring Racing Carnival for 2013. The three stamps have different focus - People, Equipment and Scene

This was inspired by the Melbourne Cup and where its raced at Flemington Racecourse.

So my artwork is based on spring racing and this specific stamp is based on the scene of "The Race that Stops a Nation", the most famous race in the world with its famous cup, gardens, architecture, history and the city. All in this stamp there had to be all those aspects mentioned - from my point of view.  The outlining was created in Adobe Illustrator and filling in with colour was done in Adobe Photoshop and completing time of 5 hours and 35 minutes for the finish product.
